TCHUKUDU SPONSORSHIP PROJECT: Tchukudu Women’s Training Centre [TWTC]

The Tchukudu Women’s Training Centre [TWTC] offers women living in Goma in the Democratic Republic of Congo a two year program where they are trained and supported while they learn new skills and then begin their own individual or cooperative businesses.

These women have fled from their home villages due to the ongoing violence in Eastern Congo. They find themselves in the city with no skills to support themselves and their families.

Our project works to find a North American sponsor for each Congolese woman, to provide monthly support for her training and her living expenses. The cost to sponsor a woman is $50/month OR $600/year with a two year commitment. Charitable tax receipts are provided.

We are very proud to announce that our first class graduated in June 2016 and has begun 4 cooperative business ventures with four women in each business. At the centre as of June 2016, we have 16 women in first year and 16 women in second year training learning the skills of a seamstress. Additionally we have 10 women learning basket weaving every six months. All donations are appreciated.
